When you create an account and use Crew, you may provide us with:

- Communications with us or other users
Information Collected Automatically
When you use Crew, we automatically collect:
- Device information (device type, operating system)
- Usage data (features used, interactions, timestamps)
- Push notification tokens for delivering notifications
- Crash reports and performance data
Location Information
With your permission, we collect precise location data from your device to:
- Show you crews within your selected radius (1-25 miles)
- Enable location-based crew discovery
- Display approximate distances to crews
Crew locations are stored with geographic coordinates. Your personal device location is only accessed when you actively use the discovery feature and is not stored on our servers.
Information from Third Parties
If you sign in using Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information (name, email, profile photo) from these services according to their privacy policies.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Create and manage your account
- Match you with nearby crews based on your location and interests
- Enable messaging and communication between crew members
- Send push notifications about messages, join requests, and crew activity
- Process and respond to your requests and inquiries
- Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues
- Enforce our Terms of Service and community guidelines
- Comply with legal obligations
3. How We Share Your Information
With Other Users
When you join a crew, other members can see your profile name, photo, bio, and interests. Your messages within crews are visible to all crew members.
With Service Providers
We use third-party services to operate Crew:
- Firebase (Google) - Authentication, database, storage, analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications
- Google Sign-In - Account authentication
- Apple Sign-In - Account authentication
These providers process data on our behalf according to their privacy policies and our agreements with them.
For Legal Reasons
We may disclose your information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Crew, our users, or others.
Business Transfers
If Crew is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services:
- Account data: Retained until you delete your account
- Messages: Retained while the crew exists
- Read notifications: Automatically deleted after 30 days
- Event reminders: Automatically deleted after 7 days
When you delete your account, we delete your personal data, messages, crews you created, and associated content. Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: View your profile information in the app
- Update: Edit your profile and preferences at any time
- Delete: Delete your account and associated data through Settings
- Location: Control location permissions through your device settings
- Notifications: Manage notification preferences in the app
- Block users: Prevent specific users from contacting you

6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Secure data transmission using HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Authentication through Firebase Authentication

- Regular security monitoring through Firebase Crashlytics
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
7. Children's Privacy
Crew is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. 8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

Crew is operated from the United States. If you access our services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using Crew, you consent to this transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of Crew after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
